Enrolment is confirmed by a successful audition – so we can see and sense which program is best for your talents, experience, and aspirations.

Audition Requirements

All applicants will be required to submit a “Round One” online Audition. As part of this submission, you will be required to present 2 separate performance videos. Please see what to prepare for your audition below.

Once your audition has been reviewed by an ACPA Head of Department (HOD), we will be in touch to confirm the next step of your audition process. If your “Round One” audition is successful, you may be offered a direct enrolment or be requested to attend a “Round Two” audition or interview. Eligible students can apply for help with audition travel costs through AbStudy.

How to prepare for your audition:

If you’ve never done an audition before, here are a few examples of successful auditions.

Thank you to Angelique Giuffre, William Coulthard and Michaella Stubbs for their contribution to these videos.

What to prepare for your audition:

Prepare two contrasting pieces to perform from your chosen genre. For example:

  • DANCE â€“ Choreograph 2 contrasting dance pieces, e.g. ballet and hip hop
  • MUSIC â€“Prepare 2 contrasting pieces to sing or play
  • STAGE & SCREEN â€“ Perform 2 monologues, one classical and one contemporary piece

Each piece should be no more than one (1) minute in length.

How to start your video:

  • Make sure you introduce yourself.
  • Tell us which discipline (music, dance, or stage & screen) you wish to study and why you want to study at ACPA.
  • Perform your two contrasting pieces.
